9 Months Old

This boy continues to be a the sweetest boy!

He has his 9 month check up today and he didn't even cry when they did the finger prick.  He is still a big boy, weighing in at 25 pounds and 31 inches long.

Asher has grown his two bottom teeth and has some top ones on the way.  He is a sad sad little teether, and wakes up a lot more in the night when he is teething, but they sure are cute little teeth.

Asher is a speedy little army crawler now, and more interested into getting into things every day.  He giggles when he discovers something new or if he is trying to get away from me.  His favorite things to crawl after are dog toys and doors.

Asher's newest trick is pulling up onto furniture.  He is getting so much more mobile.  He is more sure of his movements and getting very adventurous.  He is pretty much impossible to get to sit still these days.

Asher is still a mama's boy.  He loves to be held by me, and cries for me whenever he sees me, but he also loves to smile and talk to anyone.  He is happy to be held by anyone too as long as he can't see mama.  He also thinks Ephraim and Daddy are hilarious.  He is a social boy.

Asher is a chatter-bug.  He loves to babble "baba" and says "mama" when he wants food to eat.  He squeals when he gets excited.  He has an official first word as well; he says "nananana" when he sees a banana.

Asher lives to eat.  He loves to nurse, and eat every kind of food.  He eats whole bananas, and crackers, and bite size pieces of about everything now.

I just can't get enough of this big boy!

8 Months Old

This little cutie is 8 months old.

He is a funny little man who knows what he wants!  Which is mainly food, all the time.  Asher wants to try everything that everyone is eating and communicates this by staring and flailing whilst screeching or saying, "mama" (which I am convinced is his attempt to say more).  If you try and distract him with baby treats he may still whine until you give him what you are eating.

Asher does not like to hold still.  Changing his diaper is a challenge and getting him dressed is next to impossible.  He hates laying on his back; he immediately tries to flip over so he can crawl and find something fun to play with.  He is still army crawling and rolling mostly, which I am grateful for because it give me time to catch him, but he is getting quicker every day!

Asher loves anything that someone else is playing with.  He likes dog bones, Ephraim's toys, electronics.  You know, anything that someone else thinks is cool ;-)

No sign of teeth yet for Mister Ash-man, but he does loove to chew on everything.

Asher also like to practice standing.  He has taken a few steps along the couch or playpen, but is still mostly stationary when standing up to something.

Asher loves to scream.  He thinks it is hilarious, especially if he hears anyone else make a high pitch noise.  He also babbles a lot.  He mostly says "dada" when he is happy.

Asher loves to copy everything that Ephraim does.  Ephraim is having a hard time adjusting to this now that Asher is mobile and tries to get into all of his things, but they are adjusting to the new normal.  They really are such fun brothers.

Asher's newest trick is trying to wave, and trying to clap his hands.  Generally he tries to mimic what he sees a lot, which is adorable.  Also, after a little bit of positive reinforcement I can lay him down to bed awake every nap time and bedtime and he just plays until he is ready to sleep.  I am such a lucky mama!  He still wakes several times a night, but is easy to get back to sleep.

We just love this busy little body!

Pumpkin Patch 2015

We went to a little pumpkin patch last night, and these pictures just made me laugh.  These little boys have too big of personalities for their own good, and the pictures were just a glimpse into the crazy ;-)

First we did pictures of Ephraim.  From the second we arrived at the pumpkin patch he was obsessed with these squash.  He thought they were pretty awesome!

He is pretty tricky to photograph these days, and has an aversion to looking at the camera, but making strange animal noises and generally making a fool of yourself can (sometimes) do the trick.
He makes this look easy ;-)
This animal sound was particularly hilarious.
Adding in Asher only further complicated matters ;-)  He was very interested in the straw, and not so much in looking at the camera, and the funny noises that work for Ephraim solicited some pretty hilarious confused looks from Asher.
Ephraim being a ham and Asher checking out the straw.

Asher wondering what is going on over by the camera.
This one is probably my favorite.  Asher wondering why the heck he is in this crazy family ;-)
But we managed to get some pretty cute pictures anyway.

Then Ephraim decided he had places to be.

So we decided to take some pictures of Asher, but he wasn't feeling very smiley, as he was super focused on the straw, and out of all the pictures and all the various sounds and tricks I tried, this is the best one we got.

But then Ephraim came to save the day!  Ephraim came over and just started talking to Asher, and, Viola! Perfect smiles.  I love how much Asher loves his brother!

And sometimes Ephraim likes his brother ;-)
Sharing some more straw with Asher.
Sharing his beloved squash with Asher.
Lots of squash ;-)

Then Ephraim saw this painting and had to have some pictures with it.

Both of my boy's favorite part of the pumpkin patch were the Hula Hoops.  Asher hung out with his pretty much the whole time, and Ephraim ran around gathering squash part of the time, and the rest of the time tried to figure out the hula hooping thing.

This is my sad attempt at taking a picture of the boys and the wagon ;-)  There's a reason Stephen does the photography in the family!

I love these little boys of mine!  They sure do keep us busy!
