4 Years Old

Asher Basher! You live up to your nickname more everyday. 

Asher has mellowed out a ton!  He still has an abundance of energy and loves to jump, run, and climb, but also has developed a side that loves to sit and listen and learn with his peers at storytime and gymnastics class.

Asher is a cuddler. He loves to touch people, and sit really close.  He loves to play with friends and doesn't have a shy bone in his body.  He wants to talk to and be friends with everyone.

Asher knows what he likes and doesn’t get discouraged if Ephraim tells him it’s for babies.  He loves the color green (and everything has to be green, or he says, “but it’s not my favorite color”).  He loves Mickey Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bo on the Go, and pretty much every cartoon.  

He loves to play ball, throw pretty much anything, climb pretty much anything, ride his scooter, jump on the trampoline, and play on his tablet. He is also my animal lover, and wants to pet all the animals.

Asher loves pancakes, bananas, eggs, and pretty much any meat. He’s a little trickier to get to eat his vegetables, but he’s getting better.

Asher is a good brother.  Sometimes he drives Ephraim a little crazy because he wants to do whatever he is doing, and sometimes Everest drives him a little crazy because she wants to do whatever he is doing, so it’s all come full circle.  But all around he is patient and helps me a lot with his little sister.

Asher is smart, and (no thanks to his mom) knows all his letters, and loves to count.  He is beyond excited for preschool in August.

For his Birthday Asher decided he would rather go to the zoo than have a party, and pretty much the only thing that Asher wanted for his birthday is pancakes for dinner and a chocolate cake. So that was easy to deliver! We had a fun family birthday with Asher.

Better late than never? With the move and everything I haven't had access to my computer, but I did write this blog on my phone ;-) So imagine it's closer to June

Ephraim just won’t stop growing.

 Ephraim is friendly, smart, funny, independent and opinionated. He learned so much in kindergarten. He’s a good reader and LOVES numbers and math. He is always trying to come up with tricky math problems for us to solve, and he astounds me with his logic (like figuring out by himself that he could calculate the number of dots on a grid of dots with 9 on one side and 4 on the other by multiplying 9 and 4).

 Ephraim values friendship. Sometimes he loses his temper but for the most part is kind and loyal. He loves to talk about his friends and is always excited to see them and play with them.

 Ephraim is a great brother. Sometimes Asher and him squabble, but for the most part they play together well. Asher idolizes his bigger brother and Ephraim watches out for him. Ephraim is super sweet with Everest, and knows how to make her laugh and thinks she is the cutest girl ever.

 Ephraim still loves Pokémon. We had a Pokémon birthday party again this year, because he couldn’t be talked into anything else. He also likes just about anything he can play on the switch, like Splatoon and Zelda. His favorite movie character is Black Panther because his best friend at school plays Black Panther with him.

 We are moving to Phoenix and Ephraim was super sad to leave all of his friends in Texas, but he is warming up to the idea and excited for new adventures.

 We love you Ephraim! Keep on being awesome!

One year old

Happy birthday angel baby!

You are seriously the sweetest!

You celebrated turning one by trying to take some steps, and you can stand without holding onto things for almost a minute now.  You are always on the move.

Everyone comments on how sweet and mellow you are, and that is right!  You go with the flow and put up with a lot of craziness.

You love my phone and get very sad whenever you get it and I take it away. You also love water and just exploring.  You are very independent!

You have four teeth now and I think some more are on the way!  You love to "talk." I haven't heard any words yet, but you look very intently at me when you babble, so I know you are trying to say something!

You love to climb on mommy and daddy and give the best hugs.  We love you so much!  I am so glad you are in our family.

You loved your cake smash at your birthday party!  You demolished your cake!  Happy Birthday Everest!!!

Eleven months

How are you almost a year old my sweet Everest?

You are quite the explorer.  You crawl around and try to climb on everything.  You love to do what you see the big kids doing.

You love to babble and blow raspberries.  You clap when you are happy and are starting to laugh a little at things you think are funny.

You have two teeth now and still love to eat.  You will eat most things, and can eat a lot!

Everything (and I mean everything) goes straight into your mouth.  Its a little frustrating to try and keep all the little trinkets in the world away from you.

You are starting to develop preferences, and when you don't get your way sometimes you cry.  However, for the most part you are a pretty content little girl.

You think Ephraim is pretty funny, and you love to follow Asher around.  You are definitely a mamas girl, but you think your daddy is pretty cool too.

You are seriously just the sweetest and we can't imagine what we did before we had you!
